New Years Party in Sahara in 8 days Morocco Tour

Itinerary:   Casablanca – Rabat – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes – Merzouga Desert – Erg Chebbi – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley- Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakesh – Casablanca

December 28th 2017: Casablanca – Rabat – Fes
Upon your arrival at Airport, We drive visit Hassan II Mosque, the biggest mosque outside Mecca and experience the Cornich coast before Leaving Casablanca the economic capital of the Morocco, to the political one Rabat. Where we will see the Oudaya Kasbah and its beautiful gardens, This Kasbah of the Oudaya is located at Abou Regreg river. It was built during the reign of the Almohad dynasty in 1150 AD. The Mausoleum of Mohamed V and Hassan II and Hassan Tower which is the minaret of an incomplete mosque in Rabat constructed in 1195 AD. The tower was intended to be the largest minaret in the world with the mosque. After we finish our sightseeing tour in Rabat we head to Fez on the express road. On the road you will get fascinated by the thousands and thousands of olive trees and farmlands on the two banks. Arrival to Fez, we check into the hotel for the night.

December 29th 2017: Fes – Fes city Tour – Fes
After breakfast in your riad, you will start exploring the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. Our visit starts by visiting the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish headquarters, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, built during the 16th century. We will ensure that you visit all sites with a cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the world, the Tanneries, the Attarine museum and Mulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, you will visit the tiles cooperative and then experience a wonderful panoramic view over the whole medina of Fes before we get to Our Hotel/Riad.

December 30th 2017: Fes – Midelt – Sahara Desert
We will pick you up from your Hotel or Riad in Fes then drive southwards to Ifrane and Azrou by the Middle Atlas Mountains; on the way we will stop at cedar forest to see the Barbarian Ape in their natural habitat. Traveling through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt and along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, you’ll see views of the Middle-Atlas plateau, noticing how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city Errachidia. After lunch, we’ll continue our journey through the Ziz valley Erfoud, Rissani and Merzouga. After a glass of mint tea, we will leave our luggage in a room then take the camels to a Berber camp in the middle of Erg Chebbi Sad Dunes. 20 km long and 5 km wide it is also reputed as the highest sand dunes in North Africa. It is a unique and diverse environment. The camel trek takes about 1hr 30 min from the hotel to your luxury camp where we continue the spirit of the nomadic Berber lifestyle.

December 31th 2017: Sahara Desert Exploration – New Year Eve 2018 in Sahara Desert
Throughout the sand dunes we go for a drive on these fabulous landscapes on the edge of the Erg Chebbi, the largest sand dunes in Morocco. We will see plenty of nomadic black tents behind the sand dunes. We shall stop by a nomadic family to have tea and see what a nomadic life looks like, then we continue our sahara desert trip and drive to discover the nomadic life of black African people by visiting Al khamliya which is the highlight of today, a village where nothing has been changed through centuries.
Lunch will be a surprise meal in khamliya village then continue to the Oasis of Hassi-Elbid before we go towards our Hotel and have spending you afternoon chilling or on adventure riding Quads in the sea of Erg Chebbi dunes. Then… NEW YEAR EVE 2018 Party in SAHARA DESERT.

 

January 1st 2018: Erg Chebbi Dunes – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges
Leave the dunes behind and drive north towards to Tinerhir. We will pass by Erfoud and Jorf, whereby to discover “Khettarat”, a chain of old and dry wells, used for irrigating the farms in Xvth century. We will then ove to Tinhgir palm grove, after that we will arrive to Todra’s gorges where we will rest and eat, before we have a walk around the gorges, whilst meditating at the high canyons. In the afternoon,we leave Todgha Gorges towards neighboring Gorges, called Dades, less gigantic, but very cool and view from the above. There the river erodes the rocks creating a beautiful landscape. Check and night in hotel.

January 2nd 2018: Dades Gorges – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast, you begin your day’s journey towards Ouarzazate via the High Atlas Mountains. Take off road about 25kms on your 4×4, you will discover nomad life in caves before arriving in the the center of Moroccan roses and rose products. Continue your trip via the Road of One Thousand Kasbahs. You will pass by the Skoura palm oasis just before arriving in Ouarzazate. Here, you will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kasbah Ait Benhaddou. In typical Moroccan fashion, the true treasures must be searched out and discovered… usually off the beaten path. In actuality, this setting has been used for more films than any other location in Morocco, including Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, and recently The Gladiator. In the afternoon we continue driving through the high atlas mountains towards Marrakech where you will be dropped off at your riad/hotel.

January 3rd 2018: Marrakech – Medina City tour – Marrakesh
A Full guided tour will be scheduled to discover Marrakesh, Tourist Number 1 destination in Morocco, known as the “Red City”. Marrakesh is the most important former imperial city in Morocco’s history; it is situated near the foothills of the high Atlas Mountain. Similarly to other old towns, Marrakech comprises both an old fortified city The Medina and a very modern city called Gueliz built during the French occupation. Marrakesh has the largest traditional market (souk) in Morocco and also has one of the busiest squares in Africa and the world, Djemaa el Fna. The square is full of energy and vibes, where story-tellers, water sellers, dancers, snakes charmers and musicians perform in open air. During the night the square turns into a huge chain restaurant. During our guided city tour, we will see the Koutoubia Mosque, built in the 12th century in the reign of Almoravid Dynasty. We will go among narrow streets and allies in the medina. We pass by “seven saints” during the reign of Moulay Ismail; the festival of the seven saints was founded to the request of the Sultan. The tombs of several renowned figures were moved to Marrakesh to attract pilgrims.

January 4th 2018: Marrakech – Casablanca Airport.
Wake up early morning and drive toward Casablanca Airport.  Ends of our services.
