At AzulAventuras, we like everything to be clear. For this reason, the conditions applicable to payment, cancellation and amendments to booked trips are set out below.
1. Trip booking
Once a booking request has been received by email, telephone or through the forms available on the website, AzulAventuras provides the traveller with the information relating to the requested trip, together with the itinerary, included services and price. This document remains valid for 10 days.
Once the traveller accepts the proposal, a deposit of 12% of the total trip price is required in order to secure the booking. The booking is considered confirmed once the requested amount has been received and its receipt has been confirmed by AzulAventuras.
The remaining balance is paid in accordance with the conditions and payment dates stated in the booking confirmation.
Payment may be made using any of the payment methods made available by AzulAventuras at the time of booking.
Any fees or commissions charged directly to the traveller by the financial institution or payment service provider are borne by the traveller.
2. Cancellation by the traveller
The traveller may cancel the trip before its start by notifying AzulAventuras.
When the cancellation is made at the traveller’s request and there is no legal ground entitling the traveller to cancel without penalty, the applicable cancellation conditions are determined according to the date on which the cancellation is notified and the costs associated with the booking.
Cancellation more than 28 calendar days before departure
When the cancellation is notified more than 28 calendar days before the start of the trip, a cancellation charge of up to 80% of the amount paid as a booking deposit applies. At least the remaining 20% is refunded.
Cancellation between 20 and 28 calendar days before departure
When the cancellation is notified between 20 and 28 calendar days before the start of the trip, a cancellation charge of up to 90% of the amount paid as a booking deposit applies. At least the remaining 10% is refunded.
Cancellation 19 calendar days or less before departure
When the cancellation is notified 19 calendar days or less before the start of the trip, a cancellation charge of up to 100% of the amount paid as a booking deposit may apply where the costs incurred and non-recoverable costs justify that amount.
Cancellation charges are related to the notice given before cancellation, the costs and working time incurred by AzulAventuras, any cost savings resulting from the cancellation and the possibility of making alternative use of the booked services.
Non-recoverable amounts relating to third-party services, such as accommodation, transport, activities or other services already booked for the trip, may be taken into account when calculating the cancellation charge.
Any applicable refunds are made within the time limits established by the applicable regulations.
3. Cancellation due to unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances
Where unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances occur at the destination or in its immediate vicinity and significantly affect the performance of the package travel contract or the carriage of passengers to the destination, the traveller may take the same package trip on another date within the following six months.
4. Amendments requested by the traveller
Once the booking has been confirmed, any request by the traveller to amend the dates, itinerary, accommodation, booked services or any other element of the trip is subject to availability.
Where an amendment results in additional costs due to changes to or cancellations of services already booked, AzulAventuras informs the traveller of these amounts before making the requested change.
From the second amendment to the itinerary onwards, administration fees and any additional costs arising from the requested amendment, previously communicated to the traveller, are charged.
5. Transfer of the booking to another traveller
The traveller may transfer the booking to another person who meets the conditions required to take the trip.
The request must be communicated to AzulAventuras on a durable medium and with reasonable notice. For these purposes, notification made at least seven calendar days before the start of the trip is considered to have been made within a reasonable period.
The transfer may result in additional costs arising from changing the name of the traveller on the booked services. AzulAventuras informs the traveller of these costs before making the change.
6. Acceptance of the conditions
Confirmation of the booking means that the traveller has received the information relating to the trip and is aware of the applicable booking, payment, cancellation and amendment conditions, without prejudice to the rights granted under applicable consumer protection legislation.
